Clyde and I became friends way back in the 1940s. We lived in the same neighborhood right after World War 2 and our parents became friends and visited each other's homes. Clyde and I graduated from Edward Hand Junior High School in 1949 and I went on to High School but had to quit after one year when I turned 16 and go to work in a factory to help out at home financially. As I recall, I never saw or heard of Clyde after that. He was a year older than I and I know he went into the military His late sister, married a friend of mine but we never had much of a social connection. Today I read of Clyde's passing in the local newspaper and felt compelled to leave my condolences. Clyde was a good childhood friend and I imagine he grew to be a good man. I know life for us both was not easy back in those days. I only hope that life for him in later years was good and rewarding. Rest in Peace, Clyde.
